Municipal Liability

The Federal government, The State of New York, municipalities, and public authorities are liable to people injured in accidents on public property or in public facilities due to negligence.  These cases often involve the city, town, or village in which you live, work, or visit.  Injuries can occur on or at the following:
  • Parks
  • Sidewalks
  • Roads
  • Buses
  • Public Buildings (city hall, libraries, or courthouse)
  • Subways
  • Trains

Limited Time for Action

Time is critical for claims against municipalities.  For example, there is a 90-day filing requirement for an injury claim against The City of New York, the Board of Education, or any public transportation company.  If you believe you possibly have a valid claim against a municipality or public authority, call Pulvers, Pulvers & Thompson, LLP immediately.  If the notice of claim is not filed within the 90 days, you may lose your right to recover for your injuries.  If you are injured in an accident on public property, in a public facility, or with a publicly owned vehicle, contact us immediately for a consultation.
